Barks and Recreation Training School

At Barks and Recreation Inc., our dog training professionals encompass our phylosophies and share our goals. Our dog handling and training methods come from the reward-based, positive reinforcement school of thought. Classes are meant to encourage stronger relationships, build a foundation for good canine citizenship and create happy, social and well-rounded dogs. Thus our classes are small, limited to 6 dogs per class for a more personalized session.

Chris Bennett: 

Basic Manners 1 - Course length: 6 weeks - Price: $100.00. Small Class only 6 dogs per class.
Next Sessions: Monday April 30th, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
Course description: This class is designed for any dog. The goal of this class is for owners to understand how their dog learns, and to teach your dog the behaviors needed to be a well-mannered pet. During this class the instructor uses a positive and friendly approach to teaching your dog basic obedience bahaviors such as sit, down, stay, coming when called, loose-leash walking, attention, leave-it and polite greeting. The instructor will discuss many topics including how to communicate with our dogs, leadership, and how to deal with issues like potty-training, jumping and barking.

 

Basic Manners 2 - Course length: 6 weeks - Price: $100.00. Small Class only 6 dogs per class.

Course Description: This class is designed to continue building the foundations trained during the Basic Manners 1 class.

Basic Obedience- Course length: 6 weeks - Price: $100.00. Small Class only 6 dogs per class. Next Session: Coming Soon!!     Course description: With an emphasis on the fundamentals of learning, basic classes will help both handler and dog forge a clear and concise way of communicating and understanding. Basic classes are designed to properly fit each individual dog and handler with the method that works best. Dogs and handlers will learn the basics through a variety of learning methods and will be able to decide through proper training which method best applies. Our classes are not designed to teach every dog the same way. Every dog and handler are different and will have an individual style that works best for both. As training progresses trainers will work with both handler and dog to find which suits them as a team. Topics covered will include: Methodology of training, Sit, Down, Come and Stay.

Mixer- Course length: 6 weeks - Price: $100.00. Small Class only 6 dogs per class. Next Session: Coming Soon!!                                                                     Course description: 30 minutes of Basic Obedience and 30 minutes of Beginner Agility. Perfect class to get up early and get your pup some exercise on those cold and winter mornings.
